Australia attending APEC Meetings in Peru  

 Ministers and officials from 21 economies, including the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Stephen Smith, and Minister for Trade, Simon Crean, are attending APEC meetings in Lima, Peru, ahead of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on November 22-23.  The Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, will attend the Economic Leaders’ Meeting.

Australia is a strong supporter of APEC which began as an informal Ministerial-level dialogue group in 1989 with a meeting in Canberra.
